Abbott Road Holdings

I buy essential services businesses across the Northeast — and I'm not on anyone's clock.

Abbott Road Holdings is a holding company, not a private equity firm. There's no fund behind it and no investors waiting on a return, so I can buy a good business and hold it for as long as it makes sense.

Background

I spent the last several years at a multi-site home care company, where I built and ran the acquisition team. I met with the owners, worked through diligence, and handled what happened after closing.

Before that, a decade investing in family-owned and founder-led businesses across industrial and healthcare services. MBA from the Wharton School.

What I'm looking for

Businesses people call when something has to work:

New Jersey, New York, and Connecticut first, and anywhere in the Northeast worth the trip. Roughly 15 to 100 employees, a long operating history, and an owner who has started thinking about what comes next.

I'm not looking for a turnaround, and I'm not looking for the largest company in the market. I'm looking for a well-run business where the owner cares who takes it over.

After closing

I show up at the office and get to work. I'm an operator, not an allocator — I'd be in the business day to day, not a name on a piece of paper.

The staff stays, the name stays, and customers shouldn't notice anything changed. A name on a truck or a door usually took twenty or thirty years to build, and that isn't something I'd throw away. Nothing gets stripped out or merged away.

How a first conversation works

It's a conversation. No broker, nothing listed, and nothing that gets back to your crew, your customers, or your referral sources. If it goes further than that, I'd sign an NDA before looking at anything.

Most owners I talk to aren't selling this year. That's fine — I'd rather know you now.
